What can’t I put in a General Waste Skip?
Skip hire legislation state that some waste streams cannot be disposed in a general waste skip. Please ensure that your general waste skip does not contain the following items listed below.
As the hirer of the skip you are responsible for it and its contents. Non-conforming wastes may result in your skip not being collected and additional charges.
However, don’t worry collection of the following items can be arranged separately: -
- Batteries
- Electrical appliances
- Fluorescent light tubes
- Paints (including residues inside paint cans)
- Solvents
- Aerosols and gas canisters
- Liquids
- Oil, fuel and other automotive fluids
- Plasterboard
- Asbestos
- Fridges, Freezers and Air-conditioning units
- Tyres
- TV’s and Monitors
- Clinical or Medical Waste
- Toxic materials
- Large tree trunks
- Japanese Knotweed
- Mattresses
